How far in advance should I order?
We recommend ordering at least 2 weeks in advance to ensure availability and quality. For simple designs, 1 week may work, but we can't guarantee it during peak season (spring and fall). The earlier you book, the better — especially for weddings and special events. Submit your details via our order form to check availability for your date.
What sizes do you offer?
We offer cakes in multiple sizes to fit any celebration:
Round: 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 inch
Square: 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 inch
Sheet cakes: Quarter sheet or full sheet

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions or allergies?
We are NOT a gluten-free or allergen-free kitchen. While we work with a variety of fillings and can discuss options, we cannot guarantee zero cross-contamination. If someone has a severe allergy, we recommend checking with our team directly at (832) 461-1190 before ordering. Your safety is our priority.

Do you offer delivery?
Yes! Delivery is highly recommended for cakes 3 tiers or taller. Delivery fee: $35 base + $4 per mile from our location (14770 Tomball Parkway, Houston TX 77086). We handle setup at your venue, so you can focus on celebrating. Our team will coordinate arrival time with you in advance.
Do you deliver outside Houston?
We serve the greater Houston area and surrounding communities within a reasonable distance. Delivery fees are calculated based on mileage from our location. For orders beyond our typical service area, contact us at (832) 461-1190 or ideas.pastel@gmail.com to discuss options.
What's your deposit and payment policy?
Deposit: A non-refundable 70% deposit is required to reserve your order date. This holds your spot and covers ingredient costs and labor.
Balance: The remaining 30% is due at pickup or before delivery.
Payment methods: We accept online payments, Zelle, and cash. We'll send you payment details when you book.
Cancellation: Deposits are non-refundable due to custom work and ingredient sourcing. If you need to reschedule, contact us as soon as possible.

Can I customize the design and flavors?
Absolutely! That's what we do. Every cake is custom-designed around your vision. You can mix flavors by tier, choose from our fillings, and bring inspiration photos or Pinterest boards. During your consultation, we'll walk through design, colors, and flavors together. View our wedding portfolio for design examples.
What flavors and fillings do you offer?
Cake flavors: Vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, lemon, red velvet, and more. You can mix flavors by tier.
Fillings: Fresh fruit, chocolate ganache, salted caramel, dulce de leche, pastry cream, and more.
We'll discuss all options during your consultation to create the perfect flavor combination for your celebration.
What if I want to cancel or reschedule my order?
We understand plans change. Cancellations: Non-refundable deposits are kept to cover custom work and ingredients already purchased. Rescheduling: If you need to move your date, contact us ASAP at (832) 461-1190 or ideas.pastel@gmail.com. We'll do our best to accommodate a new date if we have availability.

Deposit Policy

Required Deposit

A non-refundable deposit of 70% of the total cake price is required to reserve your order date and confirm your custom cake design. This deposit secures your spot on our calendar and covers ingredient costs and labor for your custom order.

Purpose: Reserves your date and covers materials & labor

How to Pay Your Deposit

We accept multiple payment methods for your convenience:

  • Online Payment: Credit card or debit card via our secure payment system
  • Zelle Transfer: ideas.pastel@gmail.com (memo: "Pastel Cake Order")
  • Cash: In person at 14770 Tomball Parkway, Houston TX 77086

Payment Schedule

Here's how payment is structured for your order:

  • Upon booking: 70% deposit due to reserve your date
  • One week before: We'll send a reminder that final balance is due
  • Before pickup/delivery: Remaining 30% balance must be paid in full

No cake will be released for pickup or delivery until the full balance is paid.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Important: Deposits Are Non-Refundable

Because we custom-create every cake from scratch and source specific ingredients for your order, deposits are non-refundable. This is a firm policy to help us manage our schedule and ingredient purchasing.

If you need to cancel: Your 70% deposit will be retained. You will not receive a refund. However, you may be able to reschedule to a different date if we have availability.

Cancellation Timeline

Here's what happens depending on when you cancel:

More Than 7 Days Before Your Order Date

If you cancel more than 7 days before your cake date:

  • Your 70% deposit is retained (non-refundable)
  • You will NOT be charged the remaining 30%
  • Option to reschedule: You may apply your deposit toward a future order date if we have availability

Less Than 7 Days Before Your Order Date

If you cancel less than 7 days before your cake date:

  • Your 70% deposit is retained (non-refundable)
  • You may be charged for partially completed work and ingredients already sourced
  • No rescheduling — cancellation is final at this stage

Within 24 Hours of Your Order

If you cancel within 24 hours of your pickup or delivery date:

  • Your 70% deposit is retained (non-refundable)
  • Full 100% of your order price will be charged (since work is already in progress)
  • No exceptions or rescheduling available

Circumstances Beyond Our Control

If Pastel Boutique Must Cancel

In rare circumstances, we may need to cancel an order due to unforeseen circumstances (illness, emergency, etc.). If this happens:

  • We will contact you immediately by phone
  • Your deposit will be refunded in full
  • We will offer to reschedule your cake to a future date at no additional cost

If Delivery Is Impossible Due to Weather or Venue Issues

If delivery cannot occur due to severe weather, venue emergency closure, or similar circumstances beyond our control:

  • We will work with you to reschedule delivery to the next available date
  • Your deposit and payments will be applied to the new date
  • No refunds will be issued, but your cake will be remade for your new date

Order Changes & Modifications

Changes Before Deposit Is Paid

You can make changes to your cake design, flavors, size, and delivery details at no extra cost before you pay your deposit. Once we confirm your order details, contact us to make changes.

Changes After Deposit Is Paid

Minor changes (flavor adjustments, small design tweaks) made 7+ days before your order date may be accommodated at no additional charge, subject to availability.

Major changes (significant design overhaul, size increase, date change) made within 7 days of your order may result in additional charges or may not be possible.

Changes within 48 hours of pickup/delivery cannot be accommodated.

Pricing & Quotes

How We Quote Your Cake

Custom cake prices are determined based on:

  • Number of tiers and cake size
  • Design complexity (hand-piping, custom decorations, etc.)
  • Flavor selections and fillings
  • Additional services (delivery, setup, rush orders)

Quote Valid Period

Pricing quotes are valid for 14 days from the date of quote. After 14 days, prices may change due to ingredient costs or availability. We'll notify you of any price changes before finalizing your order.

Rush Orders

Orders with less than 2 weeks' notice may be subject to a rush fee of 20-50% depending on the design complexity and our current schedule. Contact us to discuss rush order availability and pricing.

Delivery & Pickup Policy

Pickup Orders

Cakes must be picked up during our business hours:

  • Tue–Sat: 10am–7pm
  • Sun: 12pm–3pm
  • Location: 14770 Tomball Parkway, Houston TX 77086

Cakes ordered for pickup must be collected on the scheduled date. If pickup is not possible, contact us immediately.

Delivery Orders

Delivery fee: $35 base + $4 per mile from our location

Delivery includes professional setup at your venue. We will coordinate arrival time and work with your venue team. You must provide venue address, contact person, and access details at least one week before delivery.

Delivery Cancellation

If delivery cannot occur due to customer request, delivery location cancellation, or venue closure, the full balance is still due. You may opt for pickup instead if available.
